Tupelo Honey

TGIF!!! Happy Foodie Friday!! This is by far my favorite restaurant in Downtown Charlotte, NC. After walking by this eatery, the day prior and saw the amount of people waiting outside to get in and check this place out. I HIGHLY suggest to make reservations online prior to arriving also make sure you’re there about 15 minutes before your scheduled reservation time. A line was form in front of the restaurant as they begin to open for the day.

The ambulance is illuminated by a unique assortment of light fixtures hanging from the ceiling with plant décor throughout with shades of tan and white furniture accenting the space. The inside is warm and cozy while outside continues with this theme with a yellow awning with bright yellow chairs. Greenery hanging above along with surrounding one side of the space and a green backdrop with a light up sign stating “Kiss My Grits” which is a must for a photo op.

.

We decided to eat outside and take in the beauty of the downtown area. This menu is intense in very good way. The main menu has so many options it can get difficult to make a decision. From options on the menu such as Brunch All Day, Greens and Bowls, and Fried Chicken and Buttermilk Waffles, you can’t go wrong.

To quench my thirst, I had the Peach Don’t Kill My Vibe off of the signature cocktail menu. This vibe consisted of Sparkling Sangria, house made honey liqueur, with peach pineapple and mint. This mix was smooth yet sweet as the combination will provide a humble vibe no one can kill. The Spicy Cauliflower Bites is a HOT ONE!! Brace yourself for this appetizer, yet its lightly fried in beer- battered with sliced jalapeños and sriracha honey drizzle. The green tomato aioli dipping sauce made it even better, licking your fingers may commence.

Now for the entrée I had the Avocado Toast & Eggs with a side of Sweet Potato Pancakes. Let me tell y’all this meal ….hit my soul. The eggs were fluffy and light with red onions, lettuce on a thick whole wheat bread and avocado. The toast was thick around the edges yet moist, not one topping fell from the toast. The side of Sweet Potato Pancakes comes in a stack of two and a love sprinkle of cinnamon and powdered sugar.

.

I had the pleasure of trying a bite of the Sriracha Honey Fired Chicken & Waffles… BRUV this is a heck of a combination. The honey glaze on the boneless chicken on top of a waffle. The savory enjoyment of sweet and sour in just one bite is remarkably good, I’ll be ordering this one next time.

.

Lastly the Turmeric Ginger Tonic… talk about full blown ginger with a pitch of turmeric, this is a quench reliever.

I enjoyed the service and experience at Tupelo Honey, I’ll be back ASAP next time I’m in Charlotte.
