Happy Foodie Friday! Hope you’ll are ready for some yummy eats. This week we’re indulging into brunch at Toloache in NYC on 50th Street. This isn’t my first time eating at this contemporary Mexican eatery, but for brunch it was.
The Mexican culture is displayed instantly as the beige/light pink building resembles the architecture of classic Mexican style. The location offers a closed in outdoor space which provides a private intimate space to dine in. I ate inside and I suggest making reservations for brunch. Within minutes the restaurant was packed.
.
The décor is rich with dark wood panels, settle yellow walls, colorful Talavera (Mexican pottery tiles), art along with chandeliers of circular and hexagon shapes. Its a beautiful display of the Mexican culture with a modern twist.

The margarita options are fascinating combinations to choose from. I got the La Sandia which is Paton Silver, watermelon, lime and agave… This margarita is freshly sweet in every way. The watermelon is chopped into pieces in the drink which provided a refreshing sensation after each sip. The spicy seasoning around the rim oh hello heat. Sweet and spicy vibes are instantly ignited! Warning this drink is so smooth youl’ll forget you’re drinking alcohol.

When you go to Toloache the guacamole is here is different okay. It’s a must!
The Frutas guacamole includes avocado, pomegranate, vidalia onion, mango, apple, habanero, and Thai basil. If that doesn’t get your mouth watering, I don’t know what will.
The fruit intensified the guac with a sweet flare yet spiced satisfaction. The sweet juices from the pomegranate and mango are a lovely fusion to the fresh chunky guac. It’s truly a nice twist on the dish. Unlimited chips are included along with an additional sauce but can’t recall the name of it!!
Now the moment you’ve been waiting for. The ENTREE!!! The Pan De Dulce this dish is a piece of brunch heaven. A roasted banana French Toast with strawberries, powdered sugar and Dulce de leche (caramelized milk) surround / drizzled on the dish.
The French toast was thick, fluffy and warm with the slightest crisp around the edges. The banana in between the two slices of toast with the strawberries and powder sugar delicious and not over barring of sweetness at all. You might be licking the plate when you’re done….as I did .
