Happy Foodie Friday!! This week we’re checking out the Food Hall Jacx and Co. “The Jacx LIC” @thejacxlic in Long Island City, NY.
This establishment offers 9 different eateries from Mexican, Mediterranean ,authentic bubble tea and more.
We decided to eat at Temakase Hand Roll Sushi Bar @temakase located on the second floor of the Food Hall. This Japanese eatery space is minimalistic yet calming. Light tan wood and leather seating with spot lighting providing a deemed yet welcoming ambiance. The seating is unique as a long bar like style seating is directly in-front if the chef. The option to sit at regular table is available as well.
.
Ohh let’s into this experience. Yet no is alcohol is available we went with the Green Tea. The tea is hot so brace yourself. This tea is pure and potent, warming you up with every sip. For the starter I had the crispy rice with blue crab. A crunchy yet base with soft blue crab on the top it’s simply marvelous. You might want another one … this dish is not for sharing …
.
On the menu you have the options of selecting individual hand roll sushi or a combo set. I selected the “I Could Eat” from the Set Menu (combo sets) which included three different hand rolled sushi ( salmon, spicy scallop, and blue crab).
I’ve never experienced sushi it this way. Temakase prides themselves with offering fresh hand rolled sushi that are given to you directly from the chef. This allows you to fully enjoy each roll one at a time. The seaweed is light yet crispy and flavorful . The seafood is fresh yet contemporary with the warm rice to complete the dish. I highly suggest getting the spicy truffle Mayo….. lawd it was amazing with each roll even the crispy rice meal.
My favorite roll is the spicy scallop the spices added to the fresh scallop blended smoothly. Don’t sleep on the blue crab it hit even better with the spicy truffle Mayo.
.
To finish the meal complementary miso soup is offered… I would love it they sold the miso soup as a dish! It by far the best miso soup I’ve had. From the flavor, temperature, and marination it was satisfying.
Check out @temakase in @thejacxlic 💚
