TGIF !! Happy Foodie Friday, today we’re heading to the black owned restaurant Sisters Brooklyn in Brooklyn, NY. The American cuisine restaurant has a twist on classic dishes with a menu that changes every season. Along with eccentric selection of drinks and music venue space.
.
Reservations here is a must to avoid waiting. I went for dinner but as the reservation was the first thing I as asked upon arrival. With the restrictions on the mask mandate lowered no temperature check was required. The dinning area is a considerably wide space. The front of the restaurant on the sidewalk is the built on outdoor space called the Shed. This section’s décor gave me a Parisian feel with small round tables and woven chairs with streamed lights with plants throughout the space. Each table was lit literally by candle light.
.
The inside of the restaurant is warm and inviting with bright natural sunlight illuminating from the high glass ceiling. The décor is a mix of white tones, greenery and wood giving a natural yet calm feeling. The bar is curved an elongated s shape with a white stone top. Whether you have a seat at the bar or walk by it you can’t help but stop and look at the artistic detail that went into the space.
The arrangement of circle light fixtures and candle light s set the mood as the sun sets and the nightfall commence.
.
The menu changes seasonally as more options were available at the restaurant than on the site. Sisters Brooklyn ingredients are organic and farm fresh meats. This first drink I had called Odds Against Tomorrow … by far my favorite drink here. The drink is a combination of Bourbon, Drambuie, Lemon, Honey and cinnamon on the top. Let me not stop there as fresh apple slices give the drink additional texture. A must as its not just smooth but sweetness from the honey and cinnamon. This drink will go down smooth and have you quenching for more.
.
The second drink I had called the Pink Orpheus is a hit as well. I was pleasantly surprised how good this drink was. The drink consisted of cachaca, coconut orgeat, plum & tiki bitters, this drink… sweet but refreshing. It gave me an island feel with the coconut and plum flavor.
.
For the entrée I had the fish sandwich on a brioche bun with pickled slaw and sriracha aioli with a side of sweet potatoes fries the paprika aioli dipping sauce was amazing so much that I took some to go. The fries were fresh, crisp and had the right amount of salt combining the flavors all together.
This was spicy with the sriracha aioli, the pickled slaw was crunchy and moisture. Which complemented the fried fish well. The service was friendly and helpful with suggestions and alternative. They also have vegan options as well, but remember to check the menu prior to booking as the menu changes seasonally.
