Piggyback NYC


Happy foodie Friday!!! Let’s get into this NYC gem… y’all ready. Piggyback NYC @piggybacknewyork is Pan Asian Cuisine eatery created by the owners of Pig & Khao @pigandkhao. .


This restaurant is a hit ..so much that I‘ve eaten here twice! The first time was for restaurant week Winter 2022. The meal included two appetizers, entree, and a dessert. The second time was for some drinks and a different dish. Let’s get into both experiences.


Once you’ve spotted the red neon piggy back signs you’ve made to the right place. Upon waking in you’ll see small piggyback images in unique places. From the seating at the front area to the neon sign. I’ll leave it to y’all to visit to find the rest. The decor is modernized with a twist with unique art at every turn. Exposed light bulbs steam down from the high ceiling accentuates the brick and dark wood tables.












CONFIRMED - Piggyback NYC will take part in restaurant week for Summer 2022. List of eats to check out is coming soon! Let’s start with the recap shall we… to start I had the Jungle Bird drink. Now if you love Campari this is for you. Infused with Black Rum and Campari this blend is a sweet yet stiff drink.




Now this four course meal was no joke. I’m shocked I made it to the end.. The first meal was the Curry Puff.

Omg omg this is a hell of a combination. The curry puff is soft yet crispy at the ends filled with beef. The side of sweet chili sauce was cucumber blend that was spicy yet sweet.


Now to the second dish was the Korean honey butter wings. The smell alone is impeccable. The aroma puts you into a dream. The wings are fried and glazed down to the bone. The gochujang glaze which is sweet with a hint of spice. You won’t stop eating these until they're gone. You won’t want to share these wings AT ALL!! Licking the sauce off your finger is strongly encouraged!!



Dish number three the Nasi Lemak, this dish is by far unique in its own right. If you want a dish that you’ve never experienced, look no further. Two pieces of fried chicken which are moist, lightly seasoned and have a flaky coat that falls in your mouth with every bite. The sambal chili sauce on the side was added to the entire dish. It was damn good. The coconut rice is sweet and offsets the chicken but then the fried egg on top!!!! Let’s talk about an insane combination of flavors that all work. Let’s not stop there, the sardines have a salty salty flavor.




Now to the final dish.. The dessert, which is very rare, I usually never get dessert or have room for it. The Stick Toffee Date Cake.

A warm chocolate cake is moist with Caramel toffee drizzled on the full exterior of the cake. A green apple sorbet complements the cake providing a refreshing yet cool dynamic to the dish. When opposites really attract this dish says it all. It's a must.



For the second time around I had the same Jungle Bird drink and paired it with the Thai Fried Rice.

Which is by far the top 5 best fried rice EVER ! Let me tell you what's included - fried egg , shrimp, Chinese sausage, chili, and Thai basil ! This may not look spicy but it is easy if the chili is blended to perfection you won’t see it. The flavor is buttery yet savory blended with multiple shrimp. This could be shared with enough for everyone. I highly recommend checking it out.




Bow is the waiter you need . I was blessed to have him as my waiter twice. Not only does he provide great suggestions and alternative options his personality is out of this world. I was able to check out the vas space. They also have event space in the back which transport you into a unique experience. Check out @piggybacknyc let me know what you get.
