Nori Sushi Shop & Kung Fu Tea

Updated: Feb 25, 2022

Happy Foodie Friday we’re back in NYC!!

In Staten Island … for the first time ever. If you saw this week’s Tuesday

Adventure Reel you know how the rare occasion let me to this gem.

We’re checking out Nori Sushi Shop and Kung Fu Tea -Bubble Tea both

located in the same space on the second floor of the Empire Outlets in Staten

Island, NY. The space is modern, clean and spacious with orchards at every corner, brown walls, seating, and illuminated by LED lights/ large windows.

Nori Sushi has a variety of options from Signature rolls that range from six unique sushi rolls that will have you drooling just by reading the menu. If sushi is not your thing you can create your own bowl, salad or customize a sushi roll to your liking. Options such as choosing your protein (Tuna, Salmon, Roasted Tofu or Spicy Crab)..then add veggies (Kale, Beets, Carrots and Asparagus) the options are clearly endless. It doesn’t stop there with the customization when you can choose the sauce/ topping.

I went for the Super Crunch from the Signature Roll menu. The Super Crunch Roll consist of Shrimp Tempura, King Crab, Jalapeño & Avocado Topped with Crispy Strips and Eel Sauce. OMG .. this Super Crunch roll was too damn good. First off, the crunch of the crispy strips on the top provided a light but flavorful texture to the roll. This roll combination is superb you didn’t need to add soy sauce or wasabi to it. Not a spicy roll as the jalapeño is light but the after completing this roll I was full. If you’re a sushi lover you’ll enjoy this one as it hits the spot.

Now let’s, get into the Kung Fu bubble Tea. Known for unique blends of bubble tea I had the Slush version which is a Classic Kung Fu Tea Flavors blended with Ice for a refreshing tea. I had the Matcha Red Bean which was a unique blend with Match and Red Bean. Surprisingly the blend was a hit. If you enjoy matcha you got to try this. From the bitterness/ thickness of the matcha slush to the sweetness of the boba..oh wait the red beans provide the protein and divine texture and and sweet taste. It sounds unusual but it’s a refreshing take on the bubble tea concept.

Check out both @kungfuteausa & Nori Sushi Shop but both located in the Empire Outlets in Staten Island, NY.
