Happy Friday !! This week is a throwback to the summer with a visit to Negril BK in Brooklyn, NY. This restaurant fuses staple Caribbean dishes with a gourmet twist. I’ve visited this resturant a few times but decided to try something new and enjoy the eating outdoor experience.
.
The outdoor eating space is substantially large and was located on the side street right in front of the restaurant. The set up was done well for social distancing . For settings of 2 people the layout is more of a bar style to the large table sections for groups of 5 or more. When Summer is back and if out door eating is available be on time for your reservations as the wait time can be extensive.
.
Let’s get to the food shall we. I order the Fried Calamari for appetizer- amazing !! I eat it so fast its ridiculous. The sauce was spicy but had a strong tomato base that complemented the calamari well.
.
For the entree I had the Jumbo Jerk Shrimp with Rice and Peas and collard greens. My mouth is watering just reminiscing about it. The amount of shrimp that comes with this dish works perfectly to fill anyone up. You might be asking for extra sauce or how to take this sauce home. I literary poured it on the rice and greens then continue to eat it alone.
.
Almost forgot I did have a drink!! The sorrel is good I got it without alcohol for once and it never fails and was perfect to finish the night. - Failed to take a photo of it.
.
Outdoor eating is still available and indoor dinning is opening up on Valentines day. Check out @negrilbk the vibe is always welcoming and smooth just like an island vibe.
