Leah and Louise

Happy Foodie Friday. This week we’re back in Charlotte, North Carolina for some more good eats. We're checking out Leah and Louise @leah_and_louise southern restaurant with a modern twist inspired from classic dishes from Mississippi, New Orleans and Memphis. The black owned restaurant brings a unique concept that challenges your palate and leaves you wanting more.

Located in a new hub called Camp North End- @campnorthend a space for events, eats and one of a kind shopping. You're guaranteed to have a great day out here whether you relax or explore for more fun. Now a lesson I learned on my first attempt eating here... this is a cashless spot. Make sure you have your credit card or apple pay ready. Make the reservations or you'll have to wait depending on the time you go of course.

The space is modern with southern touches from velvet couches, a traffic light and painted brick walls with framed mirrors on the walls. The touch feels cozy and calm making you feel at home. The option to eat outside is available as well. We went for brunch and ate inside.. it was packed.

Before we get into the eats I found it very impressive that the establishment is apart of the Bayhaven Pledge- which is a pledge making sure all team members make a living wage, receive benefits and health insurance. This is needed in every industry to make sure people are not just working but able to live a great life as well.

Let's start with the drinks ! I had the Fubu not once but twice... as it's clearly a must. A sweet blend with sour components still providing a refreshing taste. The egg white is settle providing a foamy texture with hearts on the top of the drink. I didn't see this drink on the menu but make sure you ask for it.

Now to the eats... I had the Good Bay-You.. I've never gotten an entree twice in one seating ... this was the first time it happened. I’m not playing … warning this dish is phenomenal! A spicy mix of southern love in a dish I've never experienced before.

Cajun shrimp mixed with the fried egg rice and herbs was just remarkable. The way the seasoning is combined to make this dish is incredible. I actually ordered hot sauce on the side but it wasn't needed. This meal rich in flavor and soul put in it.

.

Make sure you check out Leah and Louise @leah_and_louise
