Let’s get it ! This week we’re heading to KoKomo NYC in Brooklyn, NY. @kokomonyc This Caribbean restaurant transports you to an experience filled with culture and style.
.
We had the pleasure to dine inside before the new NYC restrictions for outdoor dining only were in place.
.
Yet the option to eat outside or inside don’t disappoint either way. The decor is rich in color yet rare with details from the velvet fabric walls to the plants that spread out throughout the restaurant. .
The execution to detail to along with the music combine sets up for a Caribbean vibe like no other.Let’s get into the food and drinks shall we👌🏾
.
The drinks are beautifully presented alone but then when you taste them.... LISTEN.. be ready to order another one right away. The Rude Gyal was the best drink hands down. A mix of sweetness and dash of sour this drink is a must. The blackberries added the finishing touches which packed this drink full with flavor.
The Pain Killer is a classic Caribbean cocktail and a good starter.
The Jungle Bird is for the Campari lovers for sure.
.
For appetizers I got the Crispy Fish Tacos which were zesty and spicy. The sauce is very spicy I had to take my time eating this but overall was worth it. If you’re not into spicy sauces avoid using the sauce. .
Are you Vegan? 🌱 No worries they have variety of dishes for you to choose from. My friend got the Jackfruit Tacos which were devoured instantly.
The Gochujang Wings are sweet heat glazed wings that packed a punch of sweet and savory flavors.
For entree I had the Wah Gwaan flatbread .. Ackee and shrimp lovers unite !! This flatbread was heavenly with a kick of scotch bonnet .. my mouth is watering just thinking about it.
🌱 Vegan Rasta Pasta yes you read that right! The pasta is infused with island spices, mushrooms and vegetables.
Lastly the KoKo’s Island Pasta w/ chicken & Sweet plantains (the sweet plantains are a side you can add to the entree). Can’t go wrong with this dish either.
.
Overall the food was outstanding!! Everyone enjoyed their meals and experience entirely. I will be back to eat here again soon.
.
