Happy Saturday Edition of Foodie Friday. This week we're exploring and indulging at @easthae in Williamsburg, Brooklyn, NY. I visited the Korean Gastropub & Restaurant last month for dinner and it was incredible not only was the ambience intriguing but it was also a unique wonderland of patterns with art throughout.
I just realized this eatery has temporarily closed. I'm not sure when it will reopened but hopefully soon. East Hae is on the third floor, be ready to walk up a few steps. The elevator is on the third floor for the rooftop. East Hae Restaurant is a dark yet inviting space.
You'll instantly see the mural on the wall with dark furniture illuminated with red lights. Unfortunately it was closed for a private event at the time we arrived. Thankfully the Noori Rooftop Bar was open and the weather was perfect for rooftop vibes.
The elevator wasn't working probably for the privacy for the event in East Hae so a few more flights up and rooftop is the final stop. Also the stair well is illuminated with pink/ red lights which added to the excitement. Noori Rooftop is modern yet inviting with open ceilings that retract if needed. Black floors set the mood with black and white stripe decor with accent colors or red/ orange cushions. The greenery at every corner along with the pops of purple velvet couch and a photo op section with florals and a neon sign stating "Tomorrow is another Hae".
I suggest taking your photos before the space gets packed. The views are incredible and the floor to ceiling windows surround the entire rooftop and provides the tropical yet city atmosphere.
Now lets get into the eats.. to start I had the Peach Lotus drink was a bitter with a hint of sweetness.
This drink consist of Grey Goose, Korean Yogurt, and Peach Soju- it wasn't my favorite as it was a bit too sweet for my liking.
Now the drink I highly suggest is the Haechi Hibiscus, this drink was it.
The mix of ginger, mezcal lime, and finished with Hibiscus. This drink was ordered several times as the mix of sweetness and bitterness with a citrus finish was unmatched.
For an entree we indulged in the House Garden Salad.. hands down with out a doubt the best garden salad I've ever had. Not only was the presentation top notch be the flavor and taste... Now romaine lettuce is not my favorite but the way the dressing was marinated divine. The croutons in the salad were not bread but actually fried tofu. Add the avocado, cabbage, and tomatoes.. I've engulfed a salad appetizer so fast in my life, this option is huge so be ready to share.
For the side I had the East Hae Fries these fries are on the top of my list. The fries are Idaho russet potatoes. Crispy with the crunch around the edges. Let's not forget to mentioned the fries are seasoned with salt, parsley but also come with kimchi aioli and black truffle aioli. Ketchup comes with it too..if you need. You won't want to share these fries with anyone. The both aioli sauces were by favorite especially the kimchi which was spicy!!!
For the finale ... drum roll please. The Shrimp Tempura with a side of vegetable fried rice was the entree of choice. The shrimp was good I would've preferred more flavor on the fried coat of the shrimp. The dipping sauce was zesty and was the perfect balance to add to the fried rice. I enjoyed this dish but next time will try the other options.
To top is off a live DJ was spinning the night away as the retractable roof covered the space with lighting to set the vibe for the night. Fingers crossed this space reopens so you all can experience it. I had a great time and hope to visit again soon.
