Happy Foodie Friday!! This week we’re heading down to Savannah, Georgia. The South keeps calling my name I swear, the heat in Savannah is bearable and comfortable.
I love the history /culture in grained into the architecture and food. I checked out The Collins Quarter at Forsyth Park, reservations are not needed but get here by 2pm the latest as they close by 3pm during the week and 4pm on the weekends. The coffee window is available from 7:30 am- 4pm as well.
The restaurant is aesthetically pleasing with real floral arrangements at each table accompanied with green plush seating and wooden chairs. The greenery against one wall and netted light fixtures warms the space as large windows give the view of the Historic Forsyth Park. The option to eat outside is available as well, it was too hot at the moment and was best to eat inside.
.
To start the brunch experience off you need a drink, in this case I got the Lavender Lychee Martini.. the presentation was superb and dainty. This drink is strong okay so be ready for a slap of alcohol with light flower petals. Don’t let the appearance fool you it’s smooth with lavender and lychee the blend is unique and flavorful.
.
For my main dish I had the Park Brisket Burger (Beyond Burger) with French fries and bacon on the side. A beyond burger is a plant-based meat substitute and I see why the craze for these burgers are insane. This was my first-time trying a Beyond Burger which was thick and seasoned with a crisp coating. I had no cheese on this burger but the caramelized onion, aioli, lettuce and tomato added those juices to make it a hit.
.
Not only were the fries crispy, fresh, and soft but the right amount of salt and pepper my mouth is watering just thinking about them.
Now the Duchess of Cambridge wasn’t my drink of choice but I did take a sip and it was pretty good. If you love grapefruit soda and Empress 1908 this is for you, the grapefruit was intense for me.
Overall, this experience was amazing, I would be coming back for brunch and try another dish next time I’m in Savannah. Check out @cqforsyth in Forsyth Park.
