It's the best day of the week... Friday of course. Quick Queen City Vibe with a new eatery. Blacow is a Burger, Sushi,and Bar spot. Didn't think I would ever experience this connection. Then again who doesn't love a burger and sushi with a drink or two.. With two locations in Charlotte,North Carolina I went to the Southern Location on S Tryon Street. If you drive there let me tell you parking in Queen City is amazing. A dollar for 1 hour of parking.... can we adopt this everywhere ASAP.
Voted the best burgers in Charlotte, NC, I can see why. Located in downtown Charlotte the area the space upon entering is a calm modern space. As black industrial ceilings complement the white bricks, greenery throughout. Blacow @blacow.clt has a remarkable menu for burger and sushi lovers that will test your ability to think out of the box. The creative menu takes Asian and American dishes to another level. For example Green Globe, which is spicy tuna wrapped in avocado to Kimchi Fries and Bang Bang Shrimp which is Cajun battered shrimp, homemade sweet chili sauce and sriracha mayo.. WOW!!
Then when it comes to the Chef's Special Roll menu which are top of the line out of this world sushi rolls. I didn't try any sushi rolls during my visit but by top ones to try are: 1. Green Phoenix- Lobster Salad, Shrimp, Crab meat, Avocado, & Cucumber wrapped in soy paper. 2.Spicy Girl - Deep fried spicy tuna, salmon, yellowtail, and avocado with spicy eel sauce. 3. Last by not least- Magoish Sake- Shrimp, Crabmeat, Avocado, crunch top with salmon, mango and masgo. Each roll looks incredible and will be trying next time.
Now let's get into experience. The waiter Kern is great, he suggested multiple options as gave us a good amount of time to decide on our meal of choice. To start I had the Pomegranate Mule, this is a smooth yet settle drink that you'll enjoy with any meal. The pomegranate sweet yet a pitch of bitterness. the best mule drink I’ve ever experienced.
For an appetizer, I figured why not stay on the mission this eatery offers. I had the Miso Soup, which was hot yet savoring full of flavor a zest. Miso Soup a traditional Japanese soup with tofu, dash, wakame, combo and scallions. It's a great dish that will warm up no matter the mood.
The Gourmet Burgers, then again you don't have to get a gourmet burger as Non- burgers are also available with chicken, turkey, and bean options. Twelve items are available on the Gourmet Burger list these are by far the most unique burger combinations I've seen. I went with The Blacow- Voted Best Burger in Charlotte 2020. This burger consist of Wagyu ( Japanese Black Cow Beef, lettuce, teriyaki glaze, nori furikake, seaweed seasoning, mayo and tempura avocado). This burger was voted the best for a reason.
This wagyu buyer is thick yet rich in texture and seasoning, they didn't miss a beat when creating this one. The brioche bun is toasted with a crispy interior and slight butter flavor. The avocado is fried yet soft with seaweed seasoning on top matching the teriyaki glaze. I need to purchase this seasoning ASAP.

For the sides sweet potatoes fries are fresh AF !!! Get bbq sauce on the side it was a perfect combination for me. If you get onion rings…. these were the freshest and crispest ones I’ve had thus far. The dip the comes with is a mustardy soy sauce mixture from what I can grasp. It’s smooth and pairs phenomenally.
