It’s Friday!! TGIF! Happy Foodie Friday ending this week by heading to Tong in Brooklyn, NY. @tongbrooklyn
This Thai restaurant is filled with culture unique design. Black walls with gold accents with dark brown décor throughout the space. The plants thorough out provided color giving a calming touch.
Upon entering a temperature check is required at the electronic thermometer device along with filling out a contact tracking form. In addition, you’ll have the option to sit inside or outside in front of the restaurant in the outdoor space.

I ate inside and took in the atmosphere ..social distantly of course. Let’s get into the food shall we... To drink I had the Jungle Juice from the Signature Cocktail Menu, which is Thai Rum, Campari, Cherry Heering, Grapefruit, Passion Fruit, Hibiscus, and Lime. OMG This drink was incredible, for someone who is not a big Campari fan.. myself, this combination was a burst of flavor. Sour yet slightly sweet with a punch of Grapefruit, Passion Fruit and Hibiscus.
.
For Appetizer I had the Tue Ka Ko which is a Vegan snack eaten all over Thailand. The Tue Ka Ko is crunch fritters of taro, sweet potato, and black bean with chili sauce. This dish is mouthwateringly delicious, as the exterior is crunchy with a soft base on the inside as the taste of the sweet potatoes and black bean blend well together. I dipped each fritter into the chili sauce for the spicy savory taste.
.
For the entrée I had the Ka Prow GaI which is off of the Wok part on the menu. Ka Prow Gal is basil with chicken that included string bean, onion, long hot chili , garlic and jasmine rice with basil served on the side. This dish was steaming hot when place on the table, swipe to see the video. I was already informed by the waiter this dish is spicy ….. LAWD it was. I drank all of the Jungle Juice and a few glasses of water.
.
That didn’t stop me from eating at all, the dish was savory and spicy all at once adding the jasmine rice periodically is key to cool the spicy down. The onions and string beans gave the crunch soft texture to the spicy chicken. This dish was so good I wish I ordered it again to take home. You have the option to substitute the chicken with tofu, vegetable, beef, or shrimp along with the other dishes under the WOK section.

I would recommend checking out Tong, the staff was friendly, service was quick, and the space was calming yet eclectic and warm. I’ll be going back for sure. If you go let me know how your experience was. Check out @tongbrooklyn
