Happy Foodie Friday Y’all! We’re back at it and this week we’re heading to 8 Ramen in Rockville Centre, NY. The Japanese Noodle Bar is unique space that transport you into an environment of calmness and tranquility.
Located on the popular street of Park Avenue across from locate bars and eateries. The establishment is quaint yet a decorative garden. I was informed the decorations change every season which is exciting to look forward to.
Now that we’re in Spring the space has an arrangement of pink and green florals cascade off of a tree like branch above so make sure you look up when you enter. The lights are streamed with throughout and green plants with black statutes are placed throughout the space. The walls are white with sliver ceilings. I highly suggest getting there during the day as space is limited and fills up fast.
I arrived in the afternoon and was seated immediately, I just made it before the rush of people coming in shortly after. The service was impeccable, friendly and helpful with any questions you may have. You’ll be given a glass of water with chopsticks and a napkin of course. Yes, you read that right just chopsticks so have you’re A game ready. I believe you can ask for a fork and knife, but I wanted to test my skills this time.
I stuck with water this time and for my appetizer I had the Garden Salad, which a heck of a salad, with ginger dressing – and immediate yes for me, avocado, carrots, tomatoes and cucumber. The romaine lettuce didn’t even bother me this combination was great, the real test was using the chopsticks for a salad…. That wasn’t easy but made me enjoy the experience even more.
.
For my entrée I had the Yakisoba which is fired noodles with chicken, nori, cabbage, carrots, onion, and scallions. This dish is very flavorful and served on a hot skillet, don’t burn yourself and let it cool down for a bit. I sure did! This dish is a classic fried noodle dish with a twist of cabbage and nori on it. The nori (dried seaweed) didn’t taste like much but did bring texture to the meal. I enjoyed this one and anyone trying fried noodle for the first time this would be a good one to try first.

Check out 8 ramen, their menu has a range of rice bowls, ramen and appetizers. No alcohol but with good food dranks aren’t always required.
